In the year 1995, I was to identify ‘high flyers’. The graduate trainees who joined ONGC during 1983 to 85 were the target group. Besides official assignment, I observed that the executives who were attached to MSGs (Management Services Groups) of Regional Directors, Directors, etc. and were engaged in the job of monitoring were high on ‘leadership’ a derivative of the 16 PF. Most of them were power mongers who were using the power of their bosses either to demonstrate their superiority or controlling the senior officers.
I learn, ‘personality factors may be universal but their reflections through behavior change their meaning like: ‘creativity’ to ‘child producing capacity’ in case of marriageable girls, and ‘leadership’ to ‘monitoring and control of events’ through a show of power.
